Dear Friends, We are very thankful for all of you who are faithfully praying for us as we strive to help & train churches to reach as many people as possible for Christ. It is difficult to describe the spiritual warfare that we experience while joining God in what He is doing here, and we cannot emphasize enough the need for prayer for us and for the people we are reaching out to. In the upcoming months of August through November we will have the opportunity to share Christ with more people than we ever have in a 4 month period of time since we have been here in Brazil, and we are expecting alot of spiritual warfare. We are also expecting God to do some very special things, so please keep praying for us and for the people who are without Christ in Sao Paulo.

June Events & Results:
June 1-3 : Speak at EE Manuela school , Sao Joao Climaco - Sao Paulo
We worked with Pastor Carlos and Primeira Igreja Batista Sao Joao Climaco in this school for 5th graders through high school. They also have classes for adults at night. We experienced some of the strongest spiritual warfare we have seen while working in this school. We usually have some problems or complications at almost every event in the schools, but this was really difficult. One of our interpreters Priscila, who is pregnant, got very sick the night before she was supposed to help us (thankfully she is better now). Another one of our interpreters' car broke down that week and she could not help us, and we also had some car problems that week. On the 2nd day Pastor Carlos was going to come with us, but that day he had chest pains and had to go to the hospital. The same day when we were at the school our interpreter's Mom got sick and had to go to the hospital in an ambulance. Another interpreter had a big problem & conflict with a friend (the same day), and on the same day one of the men from the church who helped us the day before also got sick and could not help us. Plus we had 2 more interpreters who cancelled out a few days before the event, and we also had some family problems on top of that at the same time. In addition, the school had been having alot of problems lately with fights,... and they also had a student that was accidentally pushed down the stairs the week before our visit, and the boy died. That is why we need your prayers, because at times this is very difficult work to do. But in the end God gave us a great victory, and 1121 students & 13 teachers and the school coordenator accepted Christ and they now have a restored personal relationship with God.

June 15 - Speak at EE Anita Atalla schools, Vila Zelina - Sao Paulo
We worked with the church that we normally go to when we don't preach or have a seminar to do in another church, Igreja Batista Boas Novas. This is a school for students in 1st to 4th grades in the East Zone of Sao Paulo. We had more warfare and complications for this school, including a late interpreter cancellation due to sickness, but it was not as difficult as the previous school. We praise God that 298 students and 8 teachers accepted Christ, and that the school leaders and teachers very much liked our message and our help, and they recommended us to other schools.

June 22-23 : Speak at EE Antonio De Queiroz school, Belem - Sao Paulo
This was the 50th school that we have had the privilege of speaking and sharing Christ in since the beginning of 2007. We worked with Pastor Manoel and Igreja Batista Ebenezer in this school for 1st through 4th graders. The school is located in the East Zone of Sao Paulo. God touched many hearts and 447 students and 15 teachers accepted Christ. Unfortunately the school would not let us pass out our discipleship tool "Livro Da Vida" (Book Of Life) to the students and teachers, which we use to begin the process of discipling the new believers. Please pray that God will continue to work in their hearts & lives, and that He will send more people to help and guide the new believers.

* Please continue to pray for us as we are seeking the Lord and His will about moving to the city of Santos, which is a city on the coast about an hour from Sao Paulo. We are sensing that the Lord is guiding us to make this move, probably by the end of this year, and we are praying for His blessings and guidance for the sale of our house and for all of the other details. We are also praying that God will go before us and begin to open doors in churches, schools, and other places, and that He will also provide the interpreters we will need in the future (we can speak in Portuguese, but it works very well when we speak in English and have interpreters, especially in the schools).
* Please pray for us as we travel to the US between June 25 and July 14. Please also pray for our son John, who will be moving back to the Atlanta area. Please pray for God's blessings and guidance as he looks for a job and makes the transition to living in the US again. We are thankful for how God has used John to reach many people for Jesus in the last 2 1/2 years.
* Please pray that God will bless and use the following upcoming events in July and August to reach many people for Christ , for His glory : July 12 - Speak at 2nd Baptist Church Cedartown GA ; Aug. 3-5 - Speak in EE Gallicho school in Mooca - Sao Paulo ; Aug. 10-12 - Speak in EE Joaquim Braga school in Sao Lucas - Sao Paulo ; Aug. 24-26 - Speak in EE Padre Grigolli school in Sao Caetano
